The Doodlebug is very excited to have published author, Sherry Steveson, here for a book signing and to teach 2 classes for us in July. Sherry has been passionate about scrapbooking for over ten years. Finding a hobby that merged her love for photography with her gift of writing, all wrapped up in a creative outlet was the catalyst for a life long devotion. Her work has been published in many of the major scrapbook magazines and idea books and always brings a thrill to her family when they see their faces on the pages of those publications, and she is the author of When Life Gives You Lemons and the recently released The Scrapbook Embellishment Handbook (Memory Makers Books). She has also found her calling in the world of teaching scrapbooking to others. Sherry currently maintains a blog at www.sherrysteveson.typepad.com . When she isn’t writing, scrapbooking or teaching, she has a very full schedule with her three children and husband’s landscape business & training to run a marathon. We currently have copies of Sherry’s books in the store, so be sure to ask about them and get a feel for her work! Crop For the Cure is Coming up Soon!
Mark your calendars now for Crop for the Cure 2010! Once again, there will be 2 different dates this year to accomodate everyone...I still highly suggest that as soon as registration opens, you register ASAP to get in on the day that you want. The dates are Feb. 27th and March 13th
YIKES! As of 2/11 both of the Crops are FULL! WOW they went quick this year. I hope that everyone that wanted to go got in.
Retreat 2009 was a huge Success!
The weekend came and went so fast, but good times were had by all! I was great to see so many "repeat" retreaters, but also all of the new faces as well! Once again, there was lots of food, tons of prizes, great classes and new friends made! I wish that every weekend could be the retreat weekend! That sneaky scrap fairy showed up again (and don't forget the new friend she brought! Maybe she will show up again next year too)- this year she gave us cake balls, ribbon and an entire chipboard alphabet...boy how we LOVE the Scrap Fairy. (I wonder if she will make it onto U-Tube this year agian?!) Believe it or not, we have already started planning for next year! We have a date set and it will once again be the 3rd weekend in September....and I hear rummor that we may even have a bachelorette party at the retreat; I am so not missing that!! Thanks for making the retreat so great girls and we will see you in 2010!
