A little about us and how we got started…
Let’s see…It all happened so fast to tell you the truth. We, Hannah and Melanie, are the type of girls that act first and plan later- oh our poor husbands. So anyway, we were both middle school teachers at the same school and we would get together every Saturday for a couple of hours to scrapbook.
One Saturday, as we were complaining about not having a good place to purchase supplies nearby, Hannah asked Melanie if she would like to open a store. Melanie thought she was kidding and blew her off. Hannah really did want to open her own store, but her husband told her she would have to find a partner. The next time we got together to scrapbook, Hannah told Melanie that she really did want to open a store, Melanie’s response was “Great, because I called the bank and they will give me money!”- The rest as they say “is history!”
The Doodlebug, Inc. officially came to be in May 2002 and since opening, the store has relocated 3 times to make room for more product lines! Everyone told us that our original store of 800 square feet (seriously..800 - some of you have scrap rooms bigger than that!!) would never be enough and we did grow out of that one in a hurry. We currently occupy over 2700 square feet and not only offer customers scrapbook products and classes, but now digital photo processing, digital scrapbooking, beading supplies and beading classes!
